First Draft of You See, What Had Happened Was...

Today I officially finished my first draft of what I've been calling my "kid horror" book! I seriously teared up as I typed out my last words of the epilogue and then sat there staring at the page for awhile, thinking, "Can I add anything else? Should I add anything else? I guess this might change in revision..." then I text my husband, who was at work, skipped around my small apartment grinning like a mad women, and ruffled my dog's ears. That's when the reality of all the hard work and perseverance that I'd overcome came crashing down on-top of my shoulders, and all I could see was the long road of revision that stretched out before me. There's still so much to do, to change, to add, and to cut out and I'm slightly dreading sitting down tomorrow and looking over my prologue. But the most important thing that I keep having to remind myself of (over and over again) is that I finished my first draft! YAY!
