Quarantined for the Coronavirus

With everyone self-quarantining the world over from the Coronavirus my friends and I decided to start hosting a learning workshop online. On a different day of the week we'd all teach each other something we were each good/skilled at. Monday's become yoga class, Thursday and Friday baking and cooking classes. Last Wednesday was book club, this Wednesday is turning into a game day. Tuesday is my day and I've been conducting a creative writing seminar.
I decided last week to review the basics of a short story, then have a collaborative writing session on outlining. I gave my friends three different writing prompts and as a group pick their favorite, then we'd work together on coming up with an outline. I wanted to keep the outlining minimal so that each person could come up with a unique story all of their own making, just the basics of what should be put into the story, or how to think about what to put into a story.
This is what we all come up with:

 Outline for short story!

Believe it or not the collaborating outline took up almost an hour, which was a lot of fun.

I assigned my "class" to write a short story over the week. Everyone to post their finished product on google drive so that we could all read the short stories. This week I'm conducting a writing critique class, using our stories. My goal is to hopefully help everyone (including myself) on how to use constructive criticism, then everyone will use to week to rewrite their stories.  Next week we'll discuss the importance of editing.

I've posted my story on this blog: titled Suspended Between 3rd and L
I definitely went over the five pages. So this week my job will be to edit and make my story concise, and to use any constructive criticism my friends give me.

I hope everyone is staying safe during this difficult time! Be creative! And keep writing!
