Guillas's Backstory

I'm playing D&D today with my in-laws and was assigned a Paladin by my brother-in-law. I haven't played a Paladin before, but from what I've heard, they're a pretty annoying and self righteous (and boring) because they tend to fall into Lawful Good territory. They usually piss off a morally ambiguous party... (cough, like in my regular campaign I play in; like when we encountered a dwarven Paladin and the rest of the party instantly disliked him).
However, here is my fun twist on Oath of Devotion, which my brother-in-law had already assigned me.

Guillas's Backstory

Guillas’s Backstory:
Guillas had once been a loyal and honorable guard of Queen Esetler, her royal highness of the Drow Empire Dimura, for many years. Guillas swore an oath of devotion to the Queen of the Drow. To guard and to protect her, to love her— for she and the queen were secretly having an affair behind the back of King Alorisn of the Feywild. The match was a political one, a treaty between the Drow and the Elven Fey. The affair was emotional and passionate, and escalating in a whirlwind of romance.
Guillas and Esetler became bolder in their secret trysts and it was inevitable that someone would notice sooner or later. During a royal ball, the Queen fearlessly danced with the king, but kept her eyes only on Guillas, their eyes locking onto each other like a lifeline in the deep swells of a stormy sea. Guillas yearning to dance with Esetler instead of having to remain at her post on the outskirts of glittering crowd.
Though, Alorisn also had a mistress, he was a possessive and jealous King. As the rumor surged in the court that the Queen had a lover, Alorisn went into a rage and ordered Esetler to end her romance. When she stood her ground and told him “No” that she wouldn’t abide by his hypocrisy; furious he flew at her, slamming her onto the bed, preparing to punish her in the worst of ways for her disobedience. Guillas heard the commotion from outside the Queens bedchamber and rushed in to defend her Queen. She hit the King with an unarmed strike to the throat, incapacitating him. He fell to his knees, both hands over his throat as he choked for breath, glaring up at Guillas, murder in his golden eyes.
Esetler, afraid for Guillas’s life, took her hand and rushed her out of the bed champers and towards a part of the castle that held a secret passageway down into the bowls of the castle and to a hidden river, connected to the castle sewers. A gate stood heavy and shut at the rear of the river. Esetler and Guillas quickly twisted the crank, hosting up the heavy iron gate. Several small row boats bobbed up and down in the dirty water.  Esteler urged Guillas to get into one of the rowboats and flee, but Guillas refused to go without her, begging Esteler to come with her. Esetler shook her head. The Alorisn would’t dare to kill her for the sake of the alliance with the Drow, however, he had all of the authority to murder Guillas. For he now knew who her lover was.
Finally, Guillas got into the bobbing rowboat and vowed to come back to the Feywild once she was more powerful and rid Esetler of the king for good. This she swore on pain of death, for love had blinded her heart and taken over all of her. Esteler kissed her and untied the boat, and as Guillas watched as the hidden gate shut on her lover. She gritted her teeth for she would return and slay Alorisn.
