D&D One Shot

Ahhh! I just DM-ed my first 5e one shot! I had a ton of fun and am still coming off of the exhilaration of DMing. I had a blast. My friends and husband also had a great time. Y'all! It was amazing. I was so nervous going into it, but then after my first NPC roleplay I was able to relax and do fun voices. It also doesn't hurt to be surrounded by friends.  If you're ever interested in doing a one-shot, to give yourself a break from your regular campaign, I definitely recommend and encourage you to try one. I bought a pre-made one-off. I read it, then re-wrote some of it by placing it in an outline format, because I'm a writer and that just made sense for me, but you don't have to do that. I also read the one-shot several times and memorized it. So by the time my friends came over I knew the material incredibly well. The one-shots called 'The Banquet of The Damned'. It wasn't that long to read, only 23 pages. Trust me it was just as fun as it's title. I opened with this:

Every year, on the tenth of Nightal, the villagers of Womford organize a large banquet in honor of their patron goddess Chanuntea. What had started out as a small reunion between neighbors has turned into the most important event of the year: The Womford Pie Contest! Womford is a tiny village on the banks of the Dessarin River. Other than the docks, a stone church, and a Grist Mill (it's waterwheel turning lazily in the sun), there's nothing here. There doesn't appear to be any shops, nor blacksmiths, nor inns, nor taverns.
As you take in the small hamlet, the villagers are busy decorating for the festival. An old human woman strings together autumn leaves to be arranged around the village buildings. A small elven girl is placing pumpkins on the doorsteps, and a trio of elven teenage boys are busy decorated a large banquet table. They arrange acorns and pine cones and fall gords, stuffing them inside small cornucopias, then placing them on the table. Other villagers lovingly place barrels of apples, interspersed in front of the banquet table, their brims overflowing with deep red apples.
Y'all have just arrived into town and begin to walk together towards it center taking in the bustle.  Just as you were about to head back to the Bargewright Inn on the other side of the river (having taken in the entire village) a grinning man, lanky and partly balding from middle age, approaches you.
"Heya, Folks! Me name's Jones Spitfire. Are you folks looking for something? If ya need, Ma's got plenty of beds for rent for a few gold coins. We also got shops but ya need to ask. Those fancy door signs cost money that we ain't got".

Roll Initiative!
Just kidding...
