Barcelona
We flew into Barcelona and landed with several hours to spare. We got a sense of the amazing architecture as we zoomed into the city in our taxi. Being an American that's traveled to Mexico and Puerto Rico I kept telling my husband that I felt like I was there. Which was crazy (but I couldn't help compare) because I'm now surrounded by very old building's that the Spanish colonies had emulated to a tee but couldn't quite capture the old moldering Gothic styling.
One of my favorite things I've done so far has probably been The Magic Fountain. Every Saturday night at 9:00 the fountain puts on a light show accompanied by majestic water displays partnered with musical selections. We got opera, jazz, 1940's big Band, and contemporary rock music. It lasted for the hour, and as I was getting sprayed by the jetting water streams, I couldn't have been happier to be there.
I have a feeling that I'm probably not going to be able to work on my WIP's while in Barcelona; maybe I'll try when we get to Mallorca, but I have a feeling I'll be reading more there. However, my ever moving imagination is filing away the sights and sounds and smells to hopefully be worked into a story on a later day.
